Course Description :

The purpose of this course is to develop the knowledge and skills required by managers and leaders. Achieving the qualification should enable learners to innovate and respond to a changing environment and to meet challenges and opportunities within the sector. This course is approved by TQUK and has been designed for those who want to work in a management position within the health & social care sector, specialising in adult domiciliary care. This qualification is a CQC requirement for anyone who wants to apply to be a Care Manager or Registered Care Manager in the domiciliary care sector, it replaces the old Level 4 registered manager qualification and the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and social care, children and young people. If you are looking to be a Registered Manager for a domiciliary care agency or would like to start your own domiciliary care agency, it is important that you undertake this qualification to meet the CQC requirements to be a Registered Manager. If you are working as a Care Manager within the domiciliary care sector , it is not too late, you can still obtain this qualification to upgrade yourself and be qualified to a Registered Manager standards. You will need to achieve a minimum of 80 credits to obtain this qualification across a range of Mandatory and optional units. (Please note there is a certificate fee of £40 +

Entry Requirement :

  • Be working in a health and social care setting as Manager, Coordinator or Team Leader
  • Level 2 written and spoken English (Equivalent to GCSE A-C)
  • IT literate (Internet, Microsoft office)
  • Able to understand and interpret course materials
  • Ability to complete written essays with clear evidence of research and referencing
  • Self-motivated and willing to complete and achieve
  • Access to Care Manager who can provide expert witness on work place practice
