Course Description :

The TQUK Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) provide learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them work in the following roles; teaching assistant, classroom assistant, learning support assistant, additional needs assistant, pastoral/welfare support assistant, bilingual support assistant or foundation stage assistant. The roles must be under the direction of the class teacher, whose lesson planning and day-to-day direction set the framework within which the individual works. This course is for anyone who is looking to start a career as a support Teacher, Classroom Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN teacher, Primary Teacher. This course will open doors to your new career as a Teacher working with children in a school environment. Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as: – Intermediate/Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools – Level 3 Certificate in Cover Supervision of pupils in Schools – Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools – Level 2 qualifications in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Play Work or Youth Work Practice Please note there is a £40 + VAT fee for awarding body certificate upon completion.

This course is regulated by Ofqual and recognised by Opito and other regulatory bodies across various sectors. 

Entry Requirement :

There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent. Learners should be keen to work in the sector to support teaching and learning in schools. They should also have attention to detail and be willing to work in a team environment, whilst also being willing to work using their own initiative when required.

COURSE DELIVERY :

The course is knowledge based and is delivered online using an e-portfolio system. You will have access to a comprehensive workbook with all the information you need to gain knowledge about working with children and their development. You will have an Assessor assigned to you who will be available to support you throughout the course and assess your work, as well as provide you with feedback so you can progress and complete successfully.

You will have access to face-to-face online support with your Assessor as required.

ASSESSMENT METHOD :

To achieve this qualification you will need to complete 4 mandatory units which will be assessed using written questions, as they are knowledge based units only: You will be able to answer all questions directly within your e-portfolio and submit to your Assessor for marking upon completion.
