LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA IN LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT FOR ADULT RESIDENTIAL CARE PATHWAY

Description

The purpose of this course is to develop the knowledge and skills required by managers and leaders. Achieving the qualification should enable learners to innovate and respond to a changing environment and to meet challenges and opportunities within the sector. This course is approved by TQUK and has been designed for those who want to work in a management position within the health & social care sector, specialising in adult residential care. This qualification is a CQC requirement for anyone who wants to apply to be a Care Manager or Registered Care Manager in a residential or nursing home, it replaces the old Level 4 registered manager qualification and the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and social care, children and young people. If you are looking to be a Registered Manager for a nursing or residential care home or would like to start your own care home, it is important that you undertake this qualification to meet the CQC requirements to be a Registered Manager. If you are working as a Care Manager within the residential care sector , it is not too late, you can still obtain this qualification to upgrade yourself and be qualified to a Registered Manager standards. You will need to achieve a minimum of 80 credits to obtain this qualification across a range of Mandatory and optional units. Entry Requirements

• Be working in a health and social care setting as Manager, Coordinator or Team Leader
• Level 2 written and spoken English (Equivalent to GCSE A-C)
• IT literate (Internet, Microsoft office)
• Able to understand and interpret course materials
• Ability to complete written essays with clear evidence of research and referencing
• Self-motivated and willing to complete and achieve
• Access to Care Manager who can provide expert witness on work place practice
